Door frames

Frames differ, just like any other product. Quality material matters: the standard Ovesta frame is made from close-grained pine. A well-chosen frame also adds character and quality to the space.

Pine

Our standard material is pine, Grade V / RT 42-10643.

Hardwood frames

Ovesta hardwood frames are always made from solid wood rather than veneer. We buy the timber as boards and machine it into frames ourselves. Oak, birch, ash and other hardwoods are available.

Aluminium

Aluminium frames stand up to demanding conditions, particularly in wet areas. They have an oven-cured painted finish, standard colour RAL 9016. Two frame options suit wall thicknesses of 68–110 mm and 110–152 mm. Frames are supplied pre-assembled for quick, straightforward installation.

Finishes

Pine frames are painted with a flexible catalysed paint in white (NCS S 0502-Y) or your chosen shade. Staining and lacquering are also possible, or frames can be supplied unfinished.

Frame dimensions

  • Alongside the standard 92 mm depth, frames can be made to the required dimensions, for example to match the wall thickness.
  • 42 x 68 mm (thickness x frame depth)
  • 42 x 92 mm (standard)
  • 42 x 130 mm
  • Modular or made-to-measure dimensions

Seals

All doors can be supplied with frame seals to improve sound insulation and comfort. The door closes softly instead of banging shut.

Frame fixing holes

  • Fixing holes are standard unless an undrilled frame is requested when ordering.
  • Fixing holes follow RT 42-10643.
  • Standard plastic plug colours: white, graphite grey, dark grey, light grey, beige and brown.
